I had a 330ml bottle. This beer won a silver medal in the Pale Ale 1M category in the 2014 CBIA Craft Beer Awards.
Appearance: Amber cloudy appearance. Small head that dissipated quickly.
Aroma: a little underwhelming. Considering the beer won a silver medal for a pale ale I was expecting a lot more. There was little hop aroma present and I could not pick up much at all.
Flavour: unfortunately I was underwhelmed here as well. There is good malt backbone and a good hop bitterness in the finish but it lacks hop freshness and fruity flavours in the front palate that you would expect in a pale ale style and especially one that has won a silver medal.
Overall: a nice beer, nothing essentially wrong with it but it very much lacks the hop aromas and flavour characters expected from a pale ale and medal winner. I can only assume that I had a very old batch. There was no "best before" date so I cannot tell. I hope I try it again and get a better outcome.
