Deep copper in color, this velvety ale is filled with notes of caramel and toffee. Earthy hops finish off with just the right amount of bitterness.

The rating below are an older batch, this brewery doesn't have great consistency, and the beer tastes quite vegetal/dirty this time around. Score is updated however.
Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a fine 1 finger light tan head was present that slowly became rocky and dissipated over a few minutes. Body is an amber red with a light haze, carbonation os relatively low.
Aroma is sweet and malty with some light roasty notes. It was served a bit cold so aroma is light. Not overhopped for the style and only come through as a bitter hop smell. A bit of yeasty notes live in the back with some light fruity esters, but also just a sense of yeasty attenuation. Pretty dang clean though for the style. Better than I remember.
Taste is quite drinkable but the flavor does build after first sipping. Sweet roasty malts are quickly balanced by high attenuation and a bitter but traditional hop profile. Despite that it remains crisp. They've really cleaned this one up good job.
Feel is full bodied but drinkable with a medium finish. Not too heavy, but carbonation is fine lending a creamy feel. Finish is a bit drying.
Overall I'm glad this improved. It seemed like they had a problem with their yeast for a while, but this is a clean ale that has all the right yeast notes.
