a well made ipa, but it seems generic to me. nothing special or dynamic or interesting or different about the hops here. its got nice bright color and a lasting head, but the nose shows balance to the point of boring, you know, pale malt in heavy enough dose to equalize the bitterness of some C varietal hops, little else. the flavor agrees with the aromatic assessment, tasty, but overly simple and lacking the punchy hop intensity that makes american ipa what it is. now, unlike many others, there are no off flavors, no temperature too hot tannic weirdness, no funked out yeast profile, nothing off in this beer at all, its fresh and well made, but the recipe just feels a little uninspired to me, which is odd coming from kokopelli, because their other beers have been so tasty and adventurous. solid if you dont like too much hops in your ipa, but if you dont, you probably dont like ipa all that much. forgettable this one was.
