12 ounce can courtesy of my employer. Pour is an effervescent crystalline straw yellow topped by a quickly diminishing head. Aroma is slightly boozy with cracker malts playing the dominate roll and a bit of honey. An incredibly smooth, almost buttery mouthfeel hosts flavors of noble hops upfront followed by doughy, sweet malts and hints of fruity esters. A bit of alcohol heat peeks out near the middle. This is a big-bodied, high gravity lager (6%) made to satisfy those who prefer bold flavors over refreshing crispness. Not that this beer lacks crispness near the finish. I'm not normally a bottom-fermented fan but this beer could probably pass as an ale to the average layman.
