A strong Belgian Ale made with Martha’s Vineyard Beach Plums hand-picked from the Farm Institute in Katama and our owner’s personal home. Pleasantly fruity

A: murky dark purple and brown color. Had on tap so no real head

S: plum, raisin, fig, brown sugar. Bready crusty bread. Caramel malt sweetness and more bread

T: tons of fig and plum upfront. Crusty bread and caramel behind. Candi sugar and more fig

M: medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation

O: decent beer. Not quite the depth the big boys have, but quite tasty

What little head was present is completely gone within five minutes. Absolutely no lace. The color is amber and clear.

The smell is like an English style Bitter. I do not detect any Belgian (yeast) notes.

The crystal malt flavors dominate this beer. One might think plum is present in the beer, but there is a beach named Plum on the island. I certainly didn't detect any. There’s a very light burnt taste which adds complexity. The hop is a gentle touch, but present in the swallow. The aftertaste leans to the malt. The body is rich with a moderate carbonation. Again, no Belgian notes that would lead me to think "Dubbel".
