Obtained this bottle from Real Ale beer shop in Richmond, London. The BB date is Apr. 06. The yeast sediment in the bottle looks extremely unsettled, a bit like Coopers Sparkling Ale...
A: in a goblet it pours a hazy, dark amber hue, with virtually nobeer head and a very static body--looking not quite right for a bottle-conditioned beer, I suspect...
S: deeply hayish hop along with a tart fruity aroma and some fermented starfruit juice note; profound Marris Otter malt aroma sustains well in the background.
T: a slightly sharp and tart fruitiness + lightly malty flavour slowly flow in... giving way to a slightly dryish, zesty hop backdrop and a raw-nut like sour-malt savour sustaining at the back; softly malty with low but lingering bitterness and a zesty touch in the short finish.
M&D: overly flat and watery mouthfeel, as if the beer is dead. The body is too thin although the palate remains soft throughout. Overall too flat for a bottle-conditioned beer at 5.0%abv. Very low drinkability for its timid taste and static body, esp. at 2.5pounds a bottle~~
