No can date
huge frothy foamy airy 3 finger head with long retention, soapy lacing, jet black color
Nose has some roast and chocolate, but then buttery diacetyl and little tart infection thing, swirling brings more dark chocolate and vanilla, a touch of fruity brandy,
Taste brings sweet milk chocolate and lactose again, but a bit more of that funky beginning of infection character, some buttery hard to tell if buttery oak or diacetyl, although as it warms I think I get more buttered popcorn diacetyl, faint faint hint of fruity brandy note, mild spicy hop, lactose sugar, sticky almost flemmy finish note, and a bit of astringency somehow
Mouth is med to fuller bod, med to a bit higher foamy carb, a touch slimy diacetyl and bit of astringency on the finish
Overall a big let down, I had hopes for the brandy barrel but seems like it picked up something wild and the onset of infection ruins the beer

From the brewer:
"Whoopie Pies are the state dessert. Coffee brandy is the state liquor. So we took our flagship milk stout and aged it in brandy barrels, added some locally roasted coffee, and now this beer is Maine as f**k. Enjoy."
Deep mahogany brown. Faint light passes along the extreme edge. Large beige head that fades slowly to a thin film on the liquid. A spattering of small spots on the glass.
Creamy, semisweet chocolate nose. Light on the chalk. Even lighter on the coffee smell.
This reminds me of powdered cocoa with milk. It's still semisweet. It's leaning to the thin side but with a lighter level of carbonation. The flavor is rich like a brownie. I don't pick up on any brandy despite the aging. The finish brings out some coffee like bitterness. Brief aftertaste.
