Tasted by half pint at the Jolly Angler, a back street local pub in Picadilly area, Manchester. Served by handpull with a sparkler.
A: pours a light amber hue, with a tight, creamy frothy head (not surprisingly, with the help of that sparkler), leaving tight sheets of lacing.
S: very light fruity hops balanced with equivalently light weight of pale malts... full-stop.
T: fruity malts on top of lightly spicy hops, leaving a bitter-sweet aftertaste and a clean finish.
M&D: very very very smooth and medium-minus bodied, this is an easy-drinking session beer and I don't know what particularly makes it a seasonal, winter brew. And surely the sparkler has disturbed the balance in the flavour, while it also restricts more aroma to be released. (I don't like sparklers for this very reason, but it stayed with me throughout my trip to Manchester last week...)
