Beautiful shade of brown and hints of Carmel.

 

I had this on draught in the brewery. It pours a pretty copper color with ruby hues and one finger of ecru-colored head and extensive lacing with excellent retention. It smells of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The taste follows the nose with cocoa, dark coffee, roasted malt, and a touch of caramel. It has a nice, creamy body with moderate carbonation and the 7% ABV allows for easy and pleasurable drinking. This is the flagship ale at Glasstown Brewing and with good reason. It is well-crafted and a pleasure to drink. This is another offering I hope they begin to can and distribute.

 

I am not a fan of amber ales in general, but this was easily my favorite of those I have had so far. Very smooth and tasty with a nice biscuit-y flavor.
