Our 2nd Anniversary beer is making a special appearance! This Barleywine is sweet & smooth with a sneakily high alcohol content. Created and named for the "boss of all bosses."

On tap at the brewery's taproom in NJ.
Appearance. This has a clear, dark reddish-brown body body topped by a moderate size tan head that has decent retention for the style.
Sweet but not too sweet with a respectable complex mix of toffee and dark dried fruit notes. Very smooth, full body with well set light carbonation.

On draught at the brewery. It was originally brewed for Glasstown's second anniversary and this batch was brewed for the sixth anniversary so it's a little over two years old. Served in a plastic cup due to COVID restrictions. It pours a hazy, burnt orange-amber color with a thin, ecru-colored head that dissipated quickly leaving a modest film of lacing. Its smell offers everything I would expect in a Barleywine: caramel/toffee, brown sugar, raisin, apple, and roasted malt. The taste follows the nose but the flavors are all recognizable but surprisingly delicate. The apple is tangy and well-balanced by brown sugar and raisin. It's quite sweet but not cloying. It's really delicious. The mouth feel is outstanding: thick and creamy with lite/moderate carbonation and I can feel the alcohol at 12% ABV. It's a sipper for sure. Overall, Capo di Tutti Capi is an outstanding English Barleywine. It's one of the best brews I've had from Glasstown.
