Like last year Duckstein presented in the year 2013 a brewing Edition. When brewing Edition from 2013 is a bright unfiltered Bock is matured for 6 months in the Andalusian port wine casks. The Port Wine Barrels are made of American oak, giving the beer incomparable whiskey and sherry flavors. Due to the elaborate manufacturing only 3000 bottles are produced from the Duckstein Brewery Arts Edition. Each bottle is a unikat and provided with a unique number.

750ml brown bottle with a suggested drink by date. Bottle #968 out of 3000.

Hazed golden amber hue, enough frothing that lasts the duration. Light vinous note in the nose with hints of wood, nutty yeast and bready malt. Barrel again comes through right away with mild wood tannin and an underlying port character. Muddled bready and yeasty tone meets a modest hopping. I have to keep in mind this is unfiltered and barrel aged so the rustic level is quite high which ends up being a really good thing here.
