From BeerAdvocate Magazine #85 (Feb 2014):
Grassy, Yeast, Crisp
Proper wheat beer pour, muddled light brown hue with an amazing head on top. Big nose of lemon zest, banana pith, yeast cake and fresh bread. We’re drinking heavy liquid bread here. Suggestions of fresh-cut grass, walnuts, faint clove and yeast. There is a rawness here that our taste buds embrace—enjoyable throughout.

Poured into a dimpled mug.
Look: Opaque caramel colored body with a foamy cream colored head. The head Recedes to a thick even-layered film. Little or no lacing.
Aroma: Musty malts, with subtle caramel and banana.
Taste: Spot-on with the aroma which is interesting. It almost tastes like a musty banana split. Some sweet caramel, banana, and a tangy tart finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.
Overall: Almost awesome, but not bad. Like a blurry nude photo.

Served in a Trooper shaker pint glass.
Found this random bottle on the shelf, so I picked it up for a lark. Why not? It pours a hazy tawny topped by, well, nothing much, as there's no real head here. Hm. The nose is a blast of dry caramel, with something akin to cracked wheat when viewed from a great distance in the background. The taste brings in more of the same, a tiny rivulet of grass possibly meandering through as well. Wow. The body is a light medium, with a barely perceptible carbonation and a slick feel. Overall, this was just a sad offering. It seemed still and lacked any weizen character whatsoever. I don't even know what to say here...

It's like a bonfire night dunkel! I get a feeling of standing round a campfire on a cold November night eating candy apples and bonfire toffee. If you did a look and taste test with this beer and put it together with dunkels, I bet most people would imagine it's in its rightful place. As a weissbier, this is nowhere near as good as the golden and delicious banana and honey weissbier kings from the same country of origin. It's interesting as a one off experiment drink but for the price and for the enjoyment, so much more can be had for half the cost, so I would always be looking elsewhere!
