Bottle conditioned. Somewhat over prepared producing a slight haze with a frothy head filling half the pint glass!
Amber in colour.
A sweet malt aroma along with earthy hops. Some jammy fruit and distant spice present.
All this continues into the flavour upon tasting. Well balanced.
Medium carbonation and body.
Straightforward. Shame about the conditioning.

Dark honey body with big foaming white head.
Quite clear but with a subtle haziness. Hoppy and fruity with bitter finish

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2013. Acquired a while back from a B&M store. The label mentions that this beer is a Southwest Champion brew (presumably CAMRA).
Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear orange-amber colour with light carbonation. Forms a smallish head of white foam that lasts for a few minutes before dissipating. Aroma of resinous hops and grainy malt, with hints of pine, weed, mild caramel, biscuits and faint earthy yeast. Possesses a surprisingly American character.
Tastes of resinous hops and caramel malt with a balanced bitter finish. Notes of pine, dank weed, caramel, biscuity grain, ale yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a hoppy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with soft carbonation and decent body. Mildly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of pine resin, stewed hops and faint caramel.
Pretty good stuff - the cheesy label hides a solid brew. Looks lacklustre, but the aroma and flavour pack a hoppy, pine-laden punch. Satisfying body. The breadth of hop aroma is a shade muted; perhaps due to age, but the overall impression beats expectations. The pine lends it a somewhat American feel. I might try and re-review a fresher example if I have the chance - worth sampling if you stumble across it.
