A big thanks to @russpowell for this one!
12oz can poured into a Level Belgian-style tulip; first experience with Walnut River
P deep mahogany/black w/ just about 1f-worth of khaki head; very faint lace near the top of the glass
N med to med-bold; complex nose of chocolate, tobacco, dark fruit, cherry, van, and barrel; nice
T zingy rye barrel notes over light chocolate and roast; a touch of heat after the swallow; a bit of nuttiness as it opens
Mf light-med to med bodied w/ med-high carb; lightly creamy on the tip of the tongue, but carb ultimately washes out the profile imo
O definitely has some good qualities- great nose and a solid profile w/ plenty of barrel, however the mouthfeel throws things off a bit; with that being said, drinks dangerously for 12%

Pours an effervescent chestnut with a pinky+ of tan head. plenty viscous, minimal head retention & lacing
S: Dark chocolate, barrel presence, vanilla, booze once warmed up
T: Plenty of barrel, dark chocolate, woody hops, molasses up front. Plenty of Rye barrel, becomes more peppery as this warms up, vanilla, a little coffee, a little toffee too. Finishes with loads of Willet, caramel, & trace amount of coffee & chocolate
Medium body, moderate carbonation, fairly warming. Body thins a bit once warmer
Wanted more body, but a solid effort with plenty of Rye presence. A sipper

What can I say? It poured a Russian imperial stout black. It had a 1/4-inch beige foam head that left a floating film.
The nose was of slight roast and stronger coffee/toffee. Medium mouthfeel.
The flavor had a roasty sweetness with chocolate in the swallow. It finished smooth for a 12 percenter. I guess that's 1 percent per ounce out of the can.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left thick rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of toffee, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and toasted caramel. Sweet chocolate and toffee taste with roasted malt, coffee and burnt molasses.
