Look - Nice copper color with a nice lasting white head and sticky lacing
Smell - tart blood orange, grassy, booze... odd blend of smells
Taste - blood orange, grapefruit, bitter, grainy, a little caramel toffee malt. Very artificial tasting
Feel - medium body with a medium light carb but slight syrup
Ovearall - not for me. Just to artifical and the taste dont go for what I like in any way for an IPA.

Blood Orange IPA,

I heavily serviceable crisp and refreshing fruit IPA. Slightly astringent orange flavor that has some off-bitterness however, it is a beer that holds up well the entire time you are drinking it.

12 fl oz pull-tab can:

"Blood orange IPA." 6.0% ABV. 57 IBUs.

The blood orange has a sort of grapefruity bend to it, which is to say it imbues a bit too much bitterness and ill enough fruitiness. Hops get eclipsed by the blood orange bitterness, or maybe it's just that the bittering hops are coming through but the flavoring hops aren't. In any case, it's fruit heavy and hop light to its detriment, and while I don't dislike it it isn't a great expression of an IPA - or even a very good one.

The blood orange doesn't taste all that genuine. I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of canned puree was used.

A drinkable albeit imbalanced ale that feels more like a fruited pale ale than an IPA proper. Not bad, but not good...sort of a poster beer for the sans Prairie/COOP/Roughtail Oklahoma beer scene in general from what I've experienced beerwise whilst living here.

$11.02 USD plus tax per sixer, which is a bit dear in comparison to other mediocre Oklahoma beers.
