The potter is an artist and an artisan – skillfully looking for beauty in the shapeless red clay. We pay respect to the potter and his clay through our Potter’s Clay Amber Ale. It’s sweet crystal and robust Munich specialty grains represent the artist’s fulfillment of well-crafted pottery. The Cascade and Fuggle hops add a slight bittering effect likened to the artisan’s acceptance of starting again. May the artist and artisan be forever linked, appreciated, and respected.

Pours a clear amber color with a two finger off white head. This beer is real clear.
Smells kind of sweet with something coming through I can't describe.
Taste has a bit of bite up front that turns sweeter.
Relatively light body feel.
Aftertaste is mildly bitter up front, but gets more so the longer it's gone.
Overall, above average slightly, not my favorite from Four Saints. Rates a 5 out of 10 on the would you like to sit down with a 12-pack of this brew scale.

Full two plus finger head, tan with an orange tint, good density and retention, slowly dimples over time, the lacing more big splotches than streaks. The liquid is the expected amber to copper color, bright and spotless and the glass is full side to side with a storm of bubbles. Caramel, nougat, molasses and cocoa powder sweeten up the nose but there’s a good dose of grassy bitterness too, muted apricot to cherry fruit scents, perhaps too chubby to achieve much lift. Medium-bodied, all that carbonation translates into a fluffy mouth feel. The malts remain dominant here, bready with cola bean, caramel, cocoa present. Close to no fruitiness, same white pit fruit with some cherry. The lack of crispness to it starts to drag on enjoyability. Can’t find any true flaws or anything to complain about. It’s more the converse that there’s not a lot to trumpet. No problem finishing the glass but no reason for a second.
