A: Pours an opaque yet still clear dark mahogany brown (approaching black) in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate amounts of garnet red + chestnut brown + cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense creamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of pumpkin pie spices (in descending order of strength - cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and vanilla). That is followed by moderate aromas of pumpkin with a moderate amount of residual sweetness and just shy of moderate aromas of caramel + toasted malts. Light aromas of freshly brewed coffee with a light amount of lactose sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of caramel + toasted malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of pumpkin with a moderate amount of residual sweetness. Finally there are light to moderate flavors of freshly brewed coffee and pumpkin pie spices (in descending order of strength - cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and vanilla). Light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving lingering pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, and coffee.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and creamy.
O: Easy to drink and enjoyable - my second NC pumpkin spice latte beer - with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable with a nice combonation of coffee, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spices. Definitely worth grabbing.
