I realize not everyone is "in to" chili beer.
But I am, having tried my first chili beer at the Green Iguana on Clark Quay in the late 90's.
I've had Billie's Chilis, Cave Creek and a bunch of others that were, well, not the best by a long shot.
Then I had Broken Plow's Chili Wheat, and it's the best thing I've had since the Green Iguana.
It is seriously good.
It's like two scorpions having sex in my mouth; but in a good way, with a good wheat beer behind it.
Definitely starts slow and careful, then heats up and gets wild.

Tried fresh at their brewery in Greeley.

An interesting wheat beer; while the chili was slightly overpowering it was not bad. Typical golden straw hue for the style. Taste buds were neutralized for approximately 10 minutes after drinking.

Definitely worth trying. Not a bad brew for the chili beer style.

Sampled on draft. Pours a semi cloudy lemony yellow color with a slight straw hue through out. Limited lacing and retention.

The nose is soft. Some hints of vegi/chili notes but mostly a malty note. A hint of wheat but light.

These are the chili beers I prefer. The chili note is very subtle. the longer you drink it the more and more the chili and heat come out. The chili itself is a bit muddled and not really distinct. The wheat is a basic backing but not much on the flavor.

The body is moderate and the carbonation is low. Overall an actual chili beer you could drink a pint of.
