True to style with a great upfront but light bite.

On tap at the brewery. Poured in a pint glass.
Appearance - hazy orange; thick, egg shell white head that leaves sticky lacing!
Smell - I pick up a little bit of pine, floral and citrus. Very good, but doesn't stand out and dominate like the aroma of an IPA should.
Taste - strong malt backbone with this IPA, which is good, however this one steals too much of the show.
Feel - comes across more like a pale ale, as opposed to an IPA.
Overall - I enjoyed this beer, however, it seems as if it would be better classified like a pale ale; think a poor man's 5 Barrell from Odell's.

So there have been a few different rounds of this beer since they opened and figured out their brew system. Currently it clocks in at 7.0% ABV (not 5.3%) and I think this is where it is sticking? Currently it is a big malty (not in a too sweet way though), piney, earthy IPA. It reminds me of Torpedo, which is also bigger and maltier than most west coast IPAs. It is extremely well balanced and a really well done IPA.
