clear double ipa done with roadhouse, neat collaboration with a cool hop profile, amarillo, talus, and vista, pretty uncommon and modern combination, and i like the abv not being enormous for the style, once they get north of 9% abv or so they tend to be boozy and sweet, but this stays light to me, no alcohol exposed in it at all, and a relatively light body for the style, not a whole lot of malt to this really, but the beer is balanced because bitterness is light in it, despite it being clear, very well done overall, storm peak has always been cool. the hop profile is what makes this though, definite melon from the amarillo, light strawberry and orange from the talus, and while vista is new to me, im assuming the lemon, green tea, watermelon rind, mango, and lemongrass character in here come largely from it, awesome mix, and what i can smell i can also taste, no real drop off from the nose to the taste, a hint of sweetness through it from the grain but not a lot of malt flavor, and a minimal fermentation profile, there is some body to this, but its a double ipa, its okay, it has nice flow, freshness, and texture, and overall this is of impressive quality and the unique hop profile makes it stand out from the crowd. thanks to a new friend for sharing a couple of their beers, definitely way ahead of the curve!
