A refreshing lager elevated with the addition of green peppercorns, “Ma Jiao” from the Sichuan province in China, Jade Scorpion is dangerously addictive. Peppercorns add bright, citrusy and herbal notes with a gentle tingle that makes our Chinese take on a pilsner delightfully moreish.

Light yellow. Honestly fantastic. I get fresh herbs on it. It’s almost like a light lemon grass. Super refreshing. Had it at hawkers with some spicy Asian food. It slapped.

Bottled on: ?????
A - Straw colored pour with a slight bit of haze and a MASSIVE four fingered billowy head (even when poured carefully). Lots of vibrant carbonation.
S - Hay, straw, some earthiness, and an overall dry nose.
T - Some slightly yeasty malt, a little bit of juniper and citrus, and ends with a pleasing light citrus bitterness.
M - Lots of prickly carbonation on the tongue that leaves an airy texture.
O - A unique Pilsner.

Very clear, straw yellow in color. Forced, thin white head. Nose herbal, almost floral. Taste is also floral and a slight bite from the peppercorns. Interesting pilsner, I like it.

Not bad but really nothing special. Outside of relatively standard lager tasting notes - light cracker, slightly grassy - there are really only subtle herbal notes coming through from the peppercorn. Not bad for a summer day.

cute lunch or supper, a light scorpion is pervasive in the ale, would be good to have with lighter food. Very drinkable, ordered from OEC. Definitely worth trying.

Oh wow! What a find and what a journey of the palate.
A green peppercorn pilsner! I loved everything about it. Its gorgeous golden color, its bright and happy grassy aroma, its very elegant nuances of both a well made pilsner with its noble hops and its subtle green peppercorn sweetness upfront and light spicy bite finish.
WORTHY!

it's a light beer with a weird twist. tastes strongly of green peppercorn, not much else going on. it's just alright. would not buy again but I wouldn't turn down drinking it.

Getting back to the weird shit I picked up last time I hit the bottle shop at OEC, we have a green peppercorn Pilsner. It seems like the 2 flavor profiles should complement each orher here so I’m intrigued. This is also my first beer from China which is pretty cool. Let’s get into it
Pours a lightly cloudy yellow gold with a finger of white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is bright and clean with a huge peppercorn vibe throughout. I’m picking up on aromas of green peppercorn, lemon zest, crackery malt, sweet honey, herbal hops, green tea, and light toasted grain
The same brightness remains in taste, but the base Pilsner does not have much presence. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lemon juice, green peppercorn, floral hops, honey, and light bready malt. The swallow brings notes of lemon zest, green peppercorn, cereal grain, floral hops, sweet honey, and light green tea
A light body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a slick and crisp beer. Finishes neutral and refreshing
As I’ve stated before, there’s not much to the base of this beer, but it’s still damn good for what it is. Plus it’s also likely that it’s not super fresh as I’ve had it for 3 months now and there’s no canning date. A unique beer

Got a can of this beer at the local Total Wine.
Poured into a tall pilsner glass. Clear bright yellow color with good initial head but little lacing. Smell and taste of lemon and grass. Taste does include a hint of white pepper. Feel is fairly standard. Overall, not bad but probably not something to go out of the way to get.
