A true German-style Kölsch. Originally brewed in Cologne, this beer is crisp and refreshing, yet has a sweet malty body that is balanced by a complex, citrus hop character. Multiple additions of German Hallertauer hops are used to achieve this delicate flavor. We use a special Kölsch yeast, an ale yeast that ferments at lager temperatures, to yield the slightly fruity, clean flavor of this beer. Fancy Lawnmower Beer is a world class brew yet light enough to be enjoyed by Texans after strenuous activities, like mowing the lawn.

Lawnmower pours a light golden color with big head in a stang glass. It smells of light hops and is light on taste. Easy drinking and smooth but crispy mouthfeel. Overall it's light beer that's very drinkable. It's got flavor. Canned 02/25/26 I thought I was lucky to find such a fresh IPA except it's a Kolsch Style Blond. It was good to try.

19.2oz can. Poured a crystal clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of cereal, grains and floral notes. Sweet caramel taste with a mild citrusy bitterness.

Fancy Lawnmower is next on the review table. Served at 44 degrees in a pilsner glass. Working through the beers I got from a friend in Texas, I had to get this one. One of the oldest breweries in Texas, Kolsch, is my favorite summer beer. Using a German Pils glass, the pour created a frothy and creamy two-fingered head with above-average retention. The slow dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. Charting the color around SRM 4, pale straw with light golden hues. The clarity is clear with a few carbonation bubbles. The appearance is average for this beer.
Nosing the glass, I smell light cracker, a touch of honeysuckle, and a smidge of grass. The aromas I detect are clean and soft.
The flavors are grass, crackers, a touch of floral ester, a smidge of honey-like sweetness, and a hint of lemons.
The mouthfeel is clean and finishes slightly dry. The body is light and has medium carbonation.
Fantastic summer beer could sip this all summer long if I could get it.

Lived up to its name, even if I’m a city dweller and don’t have a lawn to mow. Great for kicking back outdoors. Crisp, clean, just a touch of hops.
