The barrel influence is strong here but I'm a fan of that. Some people are not. The quad provides a good base for the bourbon barrel to play into those flavors and melds seamlessly. Great barrel aged offering of the DR13 and one worth picking up or trying on draft.

Black in color. Tan head with some lace.

The bourbon is very strong in this beer but in a good way. Reminds me of bcs which is odd since it is a quad. It has Belgian spices hidden under the whiskey and vanilla notes. Lots of caramel and chocolate. Dark fruit notes and molasses.

Medium bodied for a quad. Ends clean.

Very enjoyable beer but I'd have a hard time telling it's a quad. Still, well done. I wish I had tried the base beer to compare.
