22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip
A: Pours deep rich mahogany with a vanilla colored head, no head retention, some lacing, and looks unfiltered, very cloudy, not seeing much carbonation.
A: Big aromas, cognac is coming through really strong, caramel, malts, brown sugar, hint of oak, lots going, alcohol is there, lots of big aromas.
T: Hint of cognac, lots of oak and smokiness coming through, classic barleywine notes, brown sugar sweetness, caramel, malts, lots of alcohol producing heat, finishes with more oak and caramel notes.
M: Big mouthfeel, dry finish, lots of heat from the alcohol.
O: This is a big beer, lots of aromas, flavors, but it is a little rough, but I bet with some time in the cellar the heat will subside and it would become a more balanced beer making it more drinkable, cheers. Picked this up in a trade, so I won't have the opportunity to cellar.

On tap at Hay Merchant.
A: Pours a dark ruby red/brown color. A small white head forms and recedes in a minute. Light lace.
S: Sweet caramel/toffee malts. Dark fruits really come through. Cherries and plums for shore. Chocolate, vanilla, and wood. Really nice.
T: Like the nose, sweet malts up front. Caramel and toffee flavors. Dark fruits and light barrel. Vanilla and chocolate. Again, really nice.
M/O: A full body that is well carbonated. Though ultra smooth at the same time. Really easy yo drink and enjoy. Probably the easiest of the Anniversary Barrel aged variants to come back to.
So far I have really enjoyed Bishops Barrel 10, but this has more depth. More dark fruity flavors that work well. More rounded as well. I am a big fan of this one.
