12oz bottle poured into snifter, bottled on 04/21/16
Appearance: Pours a clear, faint copper with 1/2 finger of head
Smell: Citrus, pine and some resin with toasted cracker note
Taste: Light hop notes of pine and citrus with some lemongrass and malt in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium
Overall: A solid pale ale, this new hop varietal has potential as a good "workhorse" hop. It has some nice citrus notes like cascade but I'm getting some lighter herbal, almost noble-hop like flavors.

Serving: 12 oz bottle (marked "04/21/16") poured into a Saint Arnold shaker pint. Also tried on tap at Saint Arnold Brewery following Santo de Mayo 5K (1 May 16) - similar notes.
Appearance: Nearly clear, deep gold color with a nice, lush head of white foam. Good retention and lace.
Smell: Mild aroma; slight grain, citrus and floral hops.
Taste: Grainy, biscuit and pale malts and light hops. Refreshingly dry with crisp bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body, good carbonation.
Overall: Straightforward, refreshing and drinkable, but without much discernible hop character.

I had this last night poured into a short pilsner glass.
L: The appearance of this beer is inviting. A bright gold color with tinges of copper. Very good clarity and nice carbonation. A one-finger white head that slowly recedes and leaves a bit of lacing.
S: Whiffs of tropical fruits are present in the aroma, but they're intermittent and wholly overwhelmed by very odd biscuit notes which are very out of place. I popped off the bottle cap before reading the back label and actually thought to myself that it smelled like Wrigley Juicy Fruit gum. Too bad it doesn't come through more.
T: Similar to the nose, this beer has a very strong biscuit flavor this is very uncharacteristic. Some tropical, citrus flavors do come through, but this is far from being categorized as juicy. Besides the odd biscuit character, what's there is good, it just needs more. More complexity. More sugars. More hops.
F: Exceedingly dry and crisp. Minimal bitterness that is somewhat balanced by a rapidly fading malt backbone which results in a watery mouthfeel.
O: A refreshing beer that is an aptly-timed release with summer around the corner, but this needs work to be a great American Pale Ale. The experimental hop used seems promising--this beer just needs a whole lot more of it.

It's a solid beer, but it doesn't live up to the description of tropical and "juicy fruit." Floral hops, maybe a hint of tropical fruit, but very biscuity on the taste, just a bit too much malt.
