Had while visiting SAB while on Beer Safari in Houston. SADR15 which had been barrel aged in Stranahan barrels then served on cask. Incredible variant. The whisky barrel influence was a great complement and the use of Stranahan vs bourbon barrels made for a gentler addition of oak and whisps of vanilla and sweet resin. The RIS remained big and powerful, but the ABV was well masked and the complexity of the barrel inclusions really made this a special taste. Throw in the cask delivery and the beer seemed fully realized and a special one at that.
