About time I put a review down for this. I have had it plenty since it was released.
A: Pours an almost murky reddish/brown color. A two finger beige head forms with good retention and lace.
S: A simple malty aroma that I enjoy. Light grains, that become more toasted like and baked bread. Some sweetness, and a touch of earthy hops.
T: Like the nose, the malt character is very good. Light grains up front, then that warm toasted malt character takes over. Baked bread, toffee/caramel with a light sweetness. There is a bit of earthy, almost grassy hops, but the malt character is the show.
M/O: A medium body with good carbonation. Effervescent, but smooth at the same time. Really easy to drink, and something I have continued to come back to since it was released.
A very well done example of the style. Something that always seems to be around, and I always enjoy it when I come across it. Sneakilly enjoyable, and something that just hits the spot for me.

Poured from tap into shaker minimal head and lacing. Hazy light brown in the glass. Smells of roasted malt, toffee/caramel and earthy hops. Taste initially sweet, leads into some complex malt going on here, with a nice earthy finish. Great mouthfeel.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Bottled 09/28/16.
Appearance: Pours a copper with slight haze and 1/2 finger of head
Smell: Toasted malt and toffee
Taste: Toasted bread with some floral hop notes and fruity esters
Mouthfeel: Far cleaner than the initial taste would lead you to believe
Overall: This is an outstanding beer that really showcases how balance can make a traditional beer really stand out. Plenty of flavor, yet very sessionable. I get plenty of dark malt notes yet the finish is dry and clean making you ready for that next sip. Despite being a style without gimmick, this stands out amongst past Icon beers.

Serving: 12 oz bottle (stamped "09/28/16) poured into a 7 oz Libbey Gibraltar glass.
Appearance: Slightly hazy, mid-brown with a brief head of offwhite foam.
Smell & Taste: Rich malt, roasted grains and toasted bread and earthy hops. Crisp, clean, dry and balanced bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Moderate body, smooth feel and medium carbonation.
Overall: Deeply malty, but without the sweeter malt and fruity notes in SA's core malt bombs.
