Pumpkinator (Bourbon Barrel Aged With Coffee)

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a one finger beige head that fades to a collar; spots and strands of lacing

Smell: The coffee is strong, here, with the Bourbon blending; pumpkin and some pie spice, particularly the clove, underneath

Taste: Fruity espresso forward with the clove and vanilla emerging; a molasses-infused spice cake character builds, through the middle; Bourbon joins in, after the swallow, but the coffee is dominant throughout

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A bit better than the BA version without coffee but I much preferred the AleWerks BA pumpkin ale series I tasted a few years back

2022 Pumpkinator Barrel Aged with Coffee has a thin, cream-colored head, no lacing, and a dark brown appearance. The aroma is of bourbon barrel and dark bread crust. The flavor is similar, with lots of sweetness, some bitterness, and faint spices and coffee. The body is medium, and 2022 Saint Arnold Pumpkinator Barrel Aged with Coffee finishes moderately dry. Nose is bourbon, roasted malt, pumpkin pie spices
Taste is bourbon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spices, roasted malt, subtle coffee on the finish. Definitely not a “pumpkin spice latte” beer. Well balanced. Hint of vanilla.
