This 2022 Single Barrel Variant 001 is our Commitment Imperial Stout aged in Old Fitzgerald Bourbon Barrels. It announces its presence with a bold, spicy nose. The flavor is full of caramelized sugar that evolves into subdued tiramisu and finishes with a pleasant roasty bitterness. This special release makes a suitable toast to 27 years of craft brewing at Saint Arnold.

Bottled 11/3/22. Drank 2/11/23
Pour is jet black with a brief flash of a cinnamon head. Legs run the lengths of the glass. Not unexpected at almost 17%.
Nose is vanilla, bourbon, soft oak, hint of molasses and maple
Taste is maple, vanilla, bourbon, char, soft oaky bourbon-vanilla, bourbon soaked fudge, milk chocolate, a bit of heat from the bourbon, this really is an excellent beer. Hints of fig and plum show up in the finish.
Moderate carbonation. Smooth, creamy beer.
One of the best straightforward bourbon barrel aged stouts I can remember having. This is truly excellent.
