Dark black color with a light tan head. Very nice aroma of roasted cocoa. Flavor is excellent, as it is all about the malt, with good chocolate-y taste with just the right amount of roast. Not bitter, but well-attenuated, so it is appropriately dry. Light bodied, probably from the low alcohol, but this is a very good session beer.

A very good beer that few breweries make anymore. In the 90s, nearly every brewer had a good dry stout. Now, almost none do.

Deep dark brown body, near black. Tan head, kind of light but hangs on to a light ring throughout. Lots of roasted malt aromas with a touch of coffee notes. Roasty malt notes on the tongue. Nice medium mouthfeel with appropriate carbonation and a dry finish as advertised. A well crafted irish stout from St. Arnold.

12 fl oz pull-tab can:

Stupidly drinkable. Chocolate malt pairs gorgeously with roasted barley to great effect. Never feels too thin or weak on the palate like many popular expressions of the style. Creamy, soft, approachable. Hints of coffee-like bitterness.

Very balanced.

This is not a common style, even less so in Texas. So I'm glad to see someone making it besides Guinness.

and st Arnold did a good job on this one. The low ABV makes it extremely drinkable. The body is full and mouthfeel is great. Roasty coffee flavors abound, with a somewhat sweeter aftertaste than I expected, but this doesn't take anything away from the overall. Seems to me a great example of this fairly uncommon style.

Pours a dark black with a finger of head

Nose is roasted malt, a little chocolate

Taste is dry chocolate nicely balanced by bitterness from hops in the finish. Almost earthy, not sweet at all.

Relatively light body, but still an element of creaminess. Nice dry finish. Very easy drinking at only 4.3% ABV, could have a few of them no problem.

Overall I enjoyed this much more than I expected. Nice job Saint Arnold

Thin Irish dry stout. No lacing on my glass whatsoever. Minimal nose. Winter stout with a different name? Not my favorite style but wanted to give it a shot.

12 oz. can poured into tight nonic 11/26/23
(canned date 8/23/23 printed on bottom of can)

L: classic black-and-tan look with huge head of thick tan foam ... the liquid is black indoors, no artificial light will pass through; it's hard to tell if it's that dark or a bit opaque. beer keeps a thin collar of tan foam, no major sticking or lacing

S: chocolate, milk chocolate, hints of cafe mocha, wood and licorice/raisin ... maybe a little dark dried fruit in there, but it's more light than dark and nicely sweet

T: dry and bitter first few sips but the sweetness from the roasted malt starts building as you get into it, nice cocoa powder/dark chocolate finish; the dry-sweet combo is very moreish; at times the darker notes up front include charred wood, meaty red wine and a simple earthiness at times like petrichor or a smoldering wet/green log tossed on the fire

F: fantastic all around, perfectly carbonated with a light-medium weight that borders on silky at times

O: very good version of the style and exactly what I was hoping for; it's a bit drier/earthier/more bitter than the famous beer from Ireland in this genre, but it has a dark chocolate sweetness that builds up a bit over time; kudos to Saint Arnold for getting this to us at 4.3% ABV — I'd have rated it a half-point higher if it were 3.3%, but I'm also not complaining. too many beers trying to fit in this kind of style are 5% or higher, so 4.3% is great

A: Pours a dark black color with some ruby highlights around the edges. A Beige head rises to over two fingers. That recedes fairly quickly with some lace left behind.
S: Roasted coffee and chocolate aromas. Very simple, but spot on.
T: Big roast and coffee. Becomes more espresso like and rounded though. Not burnt coffee at all. Bitter bakers chocolate. Again, simple and very nice.
M/O: A light to medium body. At first crisp carbonation, but that rounds of and becomes super smooth. Finishes wonderfully dry. I can come back to this very easily.

This is a new offering from Saint Arnold, and it is a hit for me. Irish Dry Stouts can be among my favorite styles, if it is on CO2, and this is a reason why. This would probably shine on Cask as well. The malt character is spot on, and a very good example of the style. Simple, and well done all around.

Tastes like a slightly thicker and more flavorful Guinness, doesn't look as nice though. Pretty tasty and light brew.

On tap at the source.
Pours a solid dark brown with a huge fluffy tan head that persists. Aroma and flavor of creamed coffee with hints of dark chocolate and some earthy spicy hops to counter. Pretty nice.
