A: Pours a murky reddish orange color. A small white head forms, that recedes and leaves no lace.
S: Bretty yeast, and a basement like funk. Baked fruit cake with some spice, doughy malts, cherries. This is really good.
T: Like the nose, up front is Brett, and basement funk. A fruit cake flavor, tart cherries, vinous grapes. A wonderful tartness lingers on.
M/O: A medium body and moderate carbonation. This could have a bit more crisp bite for me, though finishes dry. A nice interesting offering to sip on. I can have some more, easily.
Saint Arnold has done variations of this before, like in the old Bishop Barrel series. Which I have always enjoyed then. This is really nice. The Bretty yeast, cherries and wine barrels are all really well balanced. Well done.
