2 finger off white head with great retention and fully laced. Golden body with very good clarity.
Herbal, lemon, tea leaf, menthol in the nose,
Comes alive in the flavor and the finish, citrus, lemon, mango, tangy/zingy fruit flavors with a fruit salad component. Coconut?
Medium body and carbonation. Medium length, dry finish. Maybe a little thin in the end.
God to Very Good.

 

Looks terrific, appears lightly carbonated, foamy head.
Nose is fruity/ floral and fruit punch with citrus, and some bready aroma too .
Taste is lemony citrus, some apricot with a medicinal note. Some cracker. Ends fairly bitter.
Feels creamy and bubbly.
It kind of grows on me, and there’s a hint of honey after awhile. Flavorful burst with each sip, and there’s an odd sourness/ dryness to the finish. Interesting, probably not for everyone who favors IPAs, but refreshing enough too.

 

Eclipse has a creamy, off-white head and a mostly clear, gold appearance. The aroma is of citrus and white bread. The flavor is subdued, but some white bread and odd grape drink is detect. Bitterness is oddly vacant. Eclipse has a medium body and a dry finish.

L: gorgeous clear gold topped by creamy, foamy 1 1/2-inch head of white foam that sticks and laces beautifully; there is just a wee hint of hop haze in the glass, but it's nothing short of 90%-plus clear; keeps a thick collar of white foam — the foam is almost ultrawhite ... it's very distinct; only a small amount of activity shows in the glass despite it keeping the always sudsy collar; honestly, I'm not sure what more I could ask ... a work of art by Saint Arnold

S: mango, soft, ripe mango, sweet but with a hint of mango peel; hints of pineapple, grapefruit and other citrusy/tropical fruits with an emphasis on sweet from a nice punch of bready malt, very kolache-like; gets sweeter and fruitier as it opens up, just a true joy to inhale with some "green" things slowly showing up, green like a pinch of cilantro or even a candied pine needle

T: almost a 50/50 blend of grapefruit and pineapple juice ... sweet with only a thin layer of earthy/yeasty bitterness way in the growing aftertaste to balance an otherwise sweet fruity flavor; hints of mango and cantaloupe; one of the least-bitter hop bombs I've run across until you get about halfway into the can when the growing earthy bitterness starts developing into something more noticeable

F: creamy ... creamiest beer I think I've ever drank from a can or bottle, almost cask/nitro-like despite showing a huge amount of carbonation in the pour; a bit soft but somehow not that watery with that creaminess adding a thickness to it; it's frankly a bit strange, I'd expect this kind of mouthfeel in a stout or porter, milk stout especially, or possibly a cask ale, but it's not necessarily off-putting in this context, just fairly different

O: fantastic hop juice with virtually no bitterness in the opening act; the can advertises "Citrusy & Bright" and they're not lying, but for me it's almost more tropical fruits than citrus or at least a fair balance between them; I'd put this in my personal generic category of "grapefruit bomb" only this one has less of the earthy/bitter grapefruit peel in it; people with more discerning palates than mine will find much more than just grapefruit in it

Medium gold pour, pillowy off white head. Nose offers citrus and sweet malt.

Taste sees mango, little banana, citrus, light kilned malt, sweet floral. Finish is juicy, light citrus bite, creamy mouthfeel.

Very enjoyable beer, quite balanced.

 

Grabbed a sixer on the fly. Saint Arnold never disappointed me in the past, and they didn't here either.

Bright and citrusey is a pretty good description they have on the can. Slightly boozy but still enjoyable

 

Canned 8/22/24. Drank 9/7/24.
Pour is a beautifully clear, bright, rustic yellow. Huge cap of lasting off white foam. Excellent retention and lacing.
Nose - juicy, while not a great descriptor, is what keeps coming to mind. Tropical fruit, citrus, a bit dank, hint of pine.
Taste - definitely a balanced IPA in the St. Arnold tradition. bready malt with juicy, tropical fruit, honey, definitely some melon

A: Pours with the lightest amount of haze, a yellow/orange color. A dense white head forms with excellent retention and lacing for days.
S: Big fruity aromas up front. Citrus, melon, and apricot. Simple but very enjoyable and inviting.
T: Like the nose, big hoppy fruity flavors up front, that become a bit "juicy" as the saying goes. Honey, melon, ripe apricot, and very peachy, is all very nice. The fruitiness leads to this being a bit sweeter, but still a light bitterness lingers.
M/O: A medium body and moderate carbonation. There is a slick and oily feel here as well. Really easy to drink overall. I can come back to this with ease.

I would like this to have a more crisp bite, but other than that this is a spot on new age IPA. The Eclipse and Citra hops all work really well here. This is going to be a new year round IPA for Saint Arnold, and I think it is a hit.
