A: Pours a perfectly clear golden/yellow color. The clarity here is really nice, with lots of bubbles rising to the top. A small white head forms, and recedes to leave a bit of lace behind.
S: The nose is definitely malty. Baked bread crust. A doughy, and light yeast like character. Simple, very nice, and like walking into a bakery.
T: Oh, that malty baked bread character is great. There is a honey, and sweet English biscuit like flavor. The sweetness builds, but just as this seems like its becoming to much, a light spicy hop character balances it out. Without leaving any real bitterness behind.
M/O: A medium body with moderate/soft carbonation. That is beautifully clean. Very moreish, and something I can drink in big gulps.
This is a great local example of a "Pale Festbeir." Really impressed with this, and I don't see very many breweries around here doing this style. Regardless of the convoluted-ness of anything revolting around Oktoberfest and Marzen now, this seems spot on to the pale import examples I have come across. Really well done, and I hope they keep making this.
