A tradiational Czech dark larger that is malt-forward and clean-fermented. Toasty and bready with gentle dark fruit and light roast notes; balanced, low-hop bitterness, and a smooth, dry finish.

A: Pours a dark black, not opaque as it has some brown/ruby around the edges. A dense beige head forms with excellent retention and lacing left behind. This is a looker.
S: Toasted malts, baked bread, and light roast in the nose. Simple, very nice, and spot on.
T: There is more nuance here. That toasted malts, beaked bread flavor is very apparent. Some coffee from the light roast, and a bitter dark bakers chocolate flavor lingering. Nothing out shines anything else, and its just really well done.
M/O: A medium body with a crisp effervescent bite up front. That becomes wonderfully smooth as this breaths, and I love the clean dry finish. Which all leads to something very easy to drink...in big gulps I might add. I can come back to this all day.
I love the malt character here. Which is incredibly balanced, nuanced and just moreish. A great dark lager that I will drink whenever I see it available.
