Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a clear amber color. there is a thick off white head that leaves lots of lacing. Good nose. Grain, earthy, citrus and grassy notes. The taste is very good. Touch of bitterness, earthy and citrus flavors. Some malts and grain. Nice.

On-tap 11/8/2016 at Julian’s in Providence, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep golden brown color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, floral hops and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a strong but not over-powering earthy hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, decent kick, very good representation of style, this is a very solid beer to drink for a long time.

Had on tap at Tributary. Recommended by Fred (bar stool next to me). Really glad he did. Really nice amber/orange APA. Not an IPA but just bursting with bursts of piney and juicy hops. Smooth and exceptionally easy drinking. The real deal. Man, I wish I could have this where I live. Beautifully crafted

Beer is so much better when you can drink it and share a conversation with the brewer at the same time. Enjoyed this brew while talking with Tod Mott, a legendary brewer here in New England. Tod is noted for Kate the Great from Portsmouth Brewing and Harpoon IPA in Boston. He has opened his on brewery in Kittery Maine after many years of brewing for others. In talking with Tod I found out that he started his brewing career as an apprentice at Catamount Brewing. Catamount was one of the early micro breweries back in late 80's early 90's and just a mile from my house. Look for some great brews to come from Tod out of Tributary in the very near future.
