Double the pleasure of our IPA. Fruity hop profile initiates the aromatics if this complex beer, along with a pleasant mango/pineapple juice flavor profile. More hop flavor than bitterness. Dry hopped with Azaca.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned Dec 14th 2021.

Beaming rich red bronze color with excellent clarity. Jeweled out with amber and orange highlights as well. Faint vanilla yellow colored head, easy three fingers plus of height, with creamy retention. Lots of staying power with this beer, even in a somewhat big bubbled head too. Lots of popping lacing and a slow settle, making for spectacular dark looks.

Hop angle is glorious on the nose. Soft juicy touches, hits more floral to earthy though instead of a suspected tropical or citrus blast. Tea chamomile herb like qualities with an excellent crispy malt profile that hits graham cracker, cookie biscuit sweetness, and crackling brown bread crust. Superb aromas.

A real nice mix going on here. Coating hop oils on the tongue, with malt sweetness for some excellent backbone. Hops in the mid palate shine, flirting with a fruity quality almost berry like, then giving to earthy tea herbal richness. The finish and aftertaste provides even more diversity. Crackling toffee like malt and orange pekoe like tea with a minty kick, leaves for a real lasting impression.

This looked like it was going for classic East coast old school flavor, but this is far notched up and dialed in spectacularly. Well done take on a standard DIPA. This is one of those beers that just reveals itself more and more as time goes on drinking it.

Candied citrus peel with a malt backbone, this Double IPA is big and juicy, and spicy. 9.2% ABV "Hop 2".. from the can.
Seems a different recipe but no name change.

On tap at York River Landing.
Orange/gold color with a faint haze. Small white head, a good deal of lace.
Sweet malt aroma, a little fruit.
Caramel taste. Pineapple and tropical fruit. A tiny bit of pine.
Somewhat malt-forward.
Excellent beer.

Had this on tap at Black Birch. Poured a rich orange color with very little smell, unlike many of the New England double IPAs. The taste was refreshingly crisp and not overpoweringly hoppy. There was a fruity taste up front but it was not a tropical hop bomb. The bitterness was balanced and made this an easy one to drink. I prefer Tributary's Pale Ale but this is certainly worth trying.

Alewife & I had stopped by Trib on 21FEB for a quick round. I had a 12oz sample of this back then, but did not rate it. I did get a growler to go, though.... And I enjoyed a couple of pints from said growler out on the back deck today, 27°F temps be damned!!

Poured a rich, bright, golden-orange color. Had a touch of haze but minimal carbo. Head was a frothy, billowy dollop of light tan foam. It ebbed a bit, to about 1/4", and left super lacing on the glass. The nose enticed with some toasty malts mixed with rindy, piney citrus. The feel was quite smooth and creamy on the tongue, the body being medium-plus easily.

Flavor had solid malts as well, with some bready, toasty caramel hitting the palate before the hops took over. Hopping action was in the guise of some semi-sweet tangerine and pineapple, along with some resiny, piney bitterness. It was nicely balanced, all-in all, with the bitter action being quite enjoyable and flavorful. Solid work from Mr. Mott, as always! Prosit!!

Copper color with some carbonation. Great lacing. Smell of citrus-ripe,just picked, slightly sweet, grapefruit. Great citrus taste without overhopping like some. Good mouth feel. Will make more trips to the brewery for this ale.
