Second visit to Tributary. Spacious friendly place. Growler of Wheat IPA poured into a SoMe pint glass. (Tributary's new 'competition' up the road in York!)

Beautiful cloudy appearance, citrusy smell, nice draping. Sharp and tangy to the tongue, this brew is a bit different. Nice mouthfeel and great aftertaste, which I really think is underrated. 6.5% abv - in my happy range for an IPA. Sessionable on non-school nights! Excellent.

This seems like one of those weird style things that probably shouldn't exist. Like, say, a black IPA. One would assume that since the beer is black that by definition it could not also be pale. A Wheat IPA is a less obvious contradiction, but it seems to be a beer is either a wheat or a pale ale, y'know? I'm therefore classifying this as a pale wheat, since that's a malleable style and this fits its definition.

Okay, onward: this pours roughly the color of an IPA but tremendously cloudy. The haze is opaque and beautiful.

Smells like citrus hops and dry malt. Aggressive and nice but nothing exceptional. Like it smells: nicely intense without getting out of hand, big nodes of citrus hops dominating throughout and ending dry with minimal aftertaste.
