Sampling a 16 oz can at cellar temp poured into my snifter. Picked up from the brewery a few weeks ago.
The beer pours a clear amber color with a creamy eggshell white head of 1.5 cm. this foam fades to a thin edge layer and wispy island in the center of my glass.
The aroma on this beer is some grainy malts and then a bit of a sweeter nutty note as well. this is balanced by some herbal tea hops aromas.
First sip reveals a light to medium body with very fine and tingly carbonation. texture is very smooth and this beer drinks easy.
the flavor is similar malt notes with some grainy flavor and a bit of caramel. there is a little bit of a citrus note here with lemon flavor and some grassy notes mixed in too. Citrus notes linger for a little after each swallow.
Pretty straightforward brew and Im not totally sure what the rice does, but I enjoy the beer for what it is. Worth a try if you like pale ales and are in the area of Kittery.
