If you haven't tried the Tributary Pilsner yet, now is your time to stock up and allow this brilliant beer to be your companion as you resign yourself to the leisure of summer pastimes.
Our goal when crafting this pils was to allow our native ingredients shine front and center. We teamed up with @proximity.malt to feature their Pilsen style malted barley to imbue slightly sweet, malty and grassy flavors. We balance it with the use of American grown Saaz and Sterling hops that lend a firm bitterness and aromatics that can be ascribed as noble, spicy and citrus like.
Simple yet complex, and snappy as can be, the Trib Pils will quell your thirsts as the mercury rises.

The color is darker and a lovely non-transparent pilsner yellow. Lacing is white and thin but still looks good.
Smell has bread and peppery qualities with saltine crackers lingering on the nose.
Saltine cracker plays a big role in the taste and a very complex floral note makes it's way into the middle of the taste. Citrius skin flavors are also present. The taste is what you want out of a craft lager: intricate and complex, somthing you can savor at your computer desk and pick out different notes.
This beer is noticeably carbonated but not to the extreme either. Just enough to add a bit of liveliness. Very well done.
This Pilsner is extremely well done and one of the better in the state. It's worth picking up for sure.

On tap at Tributary Brewing in Kittery, ME.
This one pours a mostly clear golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like spicy and slightly fruity hops, grain, and toast.
This is really well done. It doesn’t fall really into any typical pilsner category – it’s sort of just a semi hop-accented American pilsner, and I really enjoy it.
This is light bodied, clean, crisp, and quite drinkable.
Tributary is one of my favorite new breweries lately. They do a good job with older school stuff, and don’t seem to engage with the modern beer trends of today. Even though I don’t hate those new trends, I still enjoy a more laid back brewery.

Canned 6/03/20, hopefully this has a lot more beer and carbonation than the last can I had from them
OK, thankfully this can looks like it's filled all the way. Pours a large fuzzy bubbly almost 2 finger head with med retention, decent lacing, mostly clear hint of chill haze pilsner golden color
Nose brings decent grainy sweet pilsner malt with a touch of corn, little straw and cereal, fair floral grassy noble hop notes, a touch fruity as well
Taste brings more grainy-sweet pilsner malt, a little cereal and straw, fair amount of grainy malt but not a ton of depth, then a bit of herbal floral hops with mild bitterness, some minerals in the middle and touch of sulfate late adding to some crisp bitterness, fair corn DMS from the pilsner malt that hints at diacetyl, but not sure yet if it is, drier finish with a crisp hop bitterness, more grassy herbal hops,
Mouth is med to a bit lighter bod, soft lager feel, med to higher foamy carb
Overall not bad, pretty generic German pilsner with the sulfate induced crisp hop bitterness, decent malt profile although not as rich as others in the style, I still think that creamy character is just the DMS corn from the pilsner and not diacetyl, but still not sure, maybe increase the D-rest a tad to be sure.

Consumed 8/22/18
A: Golden straw with some pale yellow tones - clear - pours with a medium sized white head, fades to a small collar, leaves some streaks of lacing
S: Pilsner malt and some German, Czech hops - chewy-smelling malts, with some light bread, biscuit, grain - hint of bread crust, maybe some caramel - hops in moderation, with some herbal and lightly grassy notes - some lager yeast aromas, with a hint of pepper and spice - lingering light spiciness
T: Remarkably balanced and easy drinking, even for the style - smooth, soft malts - lightly bready and grainy, with some hints of crackers and bread dough - balanced nicely with lightly spicy, lightly herbal, and lightly grassy hops - just a touch of fresh-cut grass - low bitterness - some light spice and pepper - touch of earth - very clean
M: On the light side of medium, carbonation on the low side, soft but also with a crisp, clean finish
O: These cans may as well be 32 oz
I had the opportunity to buy two Tributary beers in cans. And both have been insanely drinkable. The trend is consistent with the rest of their lineup. In past reviews I have probably noted that I am not a huge fan of the typical German and Czech hops that are often abundant in American-made pils. Tributary's pils is nicely restrained, as a a result, I would happily drink a swimming pool of this.

Very crisp and flavorful Pilsner purchased on a recent trip to Maine. Can says it is inspired by European Pilsners and the bottom of the can indicates the style is German. No reason to disagree - this product seems to be an excellent representation of a German-style Pilsner. Also pleased to see the can itself is both attractive and informative. I'll be hunting for it again on my next Maine trip.

Canned 06/08/18 printed on the base of he can. 16oz. can served in a pilsner glass. Pours a lovely straw gold with a loose, half inch, bright white head. There's a slight child haze to the clarity. Nose is grassy and floral with a hint of lemon. Taste follows nose with notes of bread yeast and some subtle light, fruity esters at the finish. Mouthfeel is light in body with a smooth, even carbonation. Overall, very drinkable and refreshing.
