With a silky mouthfeel, our Czech style dark lager has rich aromas and flavors akin to toasted bread, kilned malt and nuances of chocolate, plum and toffee. The clean finish alllows the characteristics of the Saaz hops to flourish. Na zdraví!

Poured from the can into a pokal style glass.

Deep rust red with dark brown hints of color. Some noticeable clarity as there is some fast rising carbonation that can be seen, if ever so fine. Small capped three finger head ,flat topped with a unique khaki and reddish tinged color. No lacing but a real nice presented puck and collar while settling.

Aroma is mineral water rich, and rocky. Hints dark malt and very clean and very dry sensing grains. Dry caramel notes with a very steely like herb and hop angle. Touches almost molasses but without the sticky sensing sweetness. Very unique nose on this dark lager, and impressive.

Very impressive palate. Light touches of dry malted grain, a slight hint of choclate at first, then a real rocky mineral sensation that hits the palate real nicely. Not as rich on the mouthfeel as anticipated, but supportive enough without being too wet. The palate is definitely unique, with a real dark prune and fruit like character that is just great to taste. The finish has a few more surprises, clean and dry as a bone, but with more of a plum and raisin darkness without huge sugars. Comes with a little touch of milk chocolate in the aftertaste too.

Very nice lager from this brewery.

A: Pours a deep mahogany brown color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Toasted bready malt, toffee, chocolate, and some lighter nuttiness. Very light dark fruit as well

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the toasted malt, toffee, and dark fruit. Herbal hops present. Picks up the nuttiness and chocolate. Finishes with lingering toffee, bread, and nuts

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. On the smooth side

O: A very nice dark lager that has a lot of things going on for a lighter brew. Super easy to drink. Worth checking out

No can date
Pours a tan colored fizzy bubbly 1 finger head with med-low retention, a touch of lacing, dark brown molasses almost black colored

Nose brings nice dark malts, a little biscuity, some cocoa and coffee roast, chocolate, a little toasted malt and hint of caramel, light herbal hops

Taste brings more dark malt, cocoa, toasted grain and a little cereal, light cookie wafer and biscuity notes, hint of caramel, more chocolate and cocoa taking over, a little nutty, semi sweet, light herbal hops, light bitterness, drier finish, not too crisp, bit more herbal hop

Mouth is med bod, soft creamy like with a little soft lager, med foamy carb

Overall it's a pretty good beer in general but not quite what I expected for a Czech dark lager,

Picked up a 4 pack of these cans at the brewery recently. Pouring a cold can into my .5L dimple mug.
The beer pours a cola brown color with a fizzy beige head of .5 cm. This foam fades to nothing pretty quickly after the pour. No light passes through my mug, but the surface tells me that several lazy streams of carbonation are rising to the surface.
The aroma of this dark brew is toffee and some chocolate with a bit of toasted bread and a little bit of an earthy balance hop note.
First sip reveals a light crisp textured body with medium carbonation and smooth slick mouthfeel. Really easy drinking beer in this can!
Flavor is similar to nose with some sweet toffee notes and a bit of dark chocolate notes that rolls to toasted grain and a lingering almost nutty flavor. I again get a little bit of an earthy note for balance. the beer is easy crushable and interesting enough to not get bored with during a session. very nice beer

Can from the source.
Dark brown with beautiful garnet highlights and brilliant clarity, bubbly off white head dissipates quickly. Bready toasty maltiness with a firm earthy floral hop aroma and flavor to counter. Clean tasty well made beer!
