Grasshoppa has been a staple since the beginning of GOMB. More on the malty side of the spectrum with a litle bit of caramel sweetness and a nice amount of Citra hops come together to make this Grumpy GOAT extremely enjoyable.

All around average except in the flavor, lots of tasty notes. A little floral with great subtle hops and malt. Not a huge fan of IPAs but this was really good.

Poured from can into tulip, rough pour yields a good 2+ finger light tan head, excellent retention and lacing. Amberish golden in the glass, opaque but not hazy. Good caramel malt on the nose, pine, citrus, and mild underlying earthy dankness. Sweet caramel malt on the front, good piney/citrus thing going on, not totally west coast, but not new wave tropical. Creamy through the middle with a good firm bitterness on the finish, leaving a mild lingering pithy bitterness on the palate. This is seriously a dangerous beer. It is simply very drinkable without giving away that it is popping in at 8%. Friend of my daughters gave this to me when I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago. This might end up joining the cans of Creature Comfort that I get muled back here to Houston on a regular basis.

Slightly hazy coppery amber, white head. Aroma is quite mild. Mouthfeel is tangy, moderately carbonated; Flavor is mild, belies the 8.2% ABV. Tasty - I could drink a lot of this.

12 ounce can - Whole Foods Market (Harry's Farmers Market) in Marietta, Georgia.
CANNED ON 12/16/16 10:25.
Appearance: Pours a medium amber-tan body, lightly hazed with a lasting, frothy, off-white head.
Smell: Largely buttery nose with slighter notes of caramel sauce, pine needles, alcohol, maybe? The diacetyl is quite prominent, making it hard to discern any hoped for hop or malt complexities.
Taste: Toasted breadcrusts and grains glazed with caramel for a moderate sweetness. Oh-so buttery and it hits fast. Maybe some lemony/grapefruity citrus, maybe some resiny pine, but that butter supersedes it all. Moderate bitterness. Bitterish finish, though there is some sustained caramel (as well as butter) in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: No thanks.

12oz can from Hop City (Atlanta, GA). 2.29. Canned 10/7/16. Served in a Grumpy Old Men snifter.
Pours a cloudy deep orange with a little less than two fingers of pale head. The froth shrinks to a cloudy surface and full band which imparts a thorough leopard spotting of lace across the glass.
Smells of pine, dank, citrus peel, grass and cat spray. That perhaps sounds worse than the aroma actually is but this is a dank smelling brew.
Tastes of dank garlic/ onion, pine, old citrus zest, apricot, fresh grass, bread and an occasional bite of alcohol.
Medium full, semi oily feel with gentle yet present carbonation. The finish is lingering and fairly bitter with dank hops still at the forefront and a little complementary grass and citrus
Grasshoppa may not cater to my particular preferences but there is nothing wrong here. The Grumpy Old Men just prefer a stronger dank presence than I do. Glad I tried it and I won't have a problem drinking it when it's around.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly murky golden amber to copper color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is mostly hops with some mild vanilla. The flavor is hops and caramel. My first beer from Grumpy Old Men Brewing

Shared growler in July 2016 and 12 oz can in November 2016.
Hazy amber with a very good head. Exceptional lacing.
Hoppy, herbal and grassy aroma with a hint of vanilla.
The flavor is quite hoppy with relatively low bitterness and moderate complexity.

$12 for a sixer. Pours more of a coppery color than expected. Smells hoppy and sweet. It's got a great head that hangs around, tiny creamy bubbles.
Tastes more caramel and sweet than I want, the only bitter is in the finish l which lingers as bitter and sweet. Very creamy mouthfeel, probably the best part of the beer. Overall a decent beer, not something I would seek out again though
