Well...this is a complex brew. Picked up a 22oz bomber at the local Sam's. Bottle isn't dated that I can find, so freshness is questionable. Popped the cap and inital notes were overwhemingly sweetness i.e. barley-wine-esqe sweetness. However, the first taste was a nice combination of sweet and hop bitterness. Aftertaste was dry, certainly IPA dry. At this moment in time, I am really enjoying this brew from Granite Falls. However, I am of the opinion that older Triple IPA's, especially those above 12% abv., tend to evolve into a barley-wine the older they get. Perseus certainly has the capablity to fall in line that thinking. Right now, it's a very good hybrid IIPA, in a month or so...I'd expect something different!
