Poured a light unfiltered brown- pear like color in a Orval Trappist glass with a 2F head,
which dissipated quickly.
The aroma is very candy-like- sweet with fruit. Unfortunatley, it became less pronounced within minutes of the pour.
The mouth feel is quite malty- as in the style.
Taste: spicy, malty, sweet candy, with a dry bitter finish.
With warming, the excellent finish has more spiciness, bitterness and fruit. The maltiness becomes more pronounced with warming.
Overall: an excellent Dubbel. I would have liked a lingering aroma, which started out very strong. Also, on the label there is no bottle date ( not so unsusual) and no indication of the ABV, the latter being a necessity to craft beer drinkers.
IF's honey tripel has a excellent reputation. This is a very small brewery, and I am looking forward to tasting their beers. They produce 100 barrels a year, and brew craft beer in their evolving signature style. Their beer is available in the MA South Shore. Another MA brewery to watch!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
