May Day is the most important day of the year in Padstow, and we created this beer specifically to celebrate it. It proved so popular that its now available all year round. Featuring citra hops, it has a fantastic citrus aroma and makes for a smooth and refreshing beer.

On cask at the brewery’s tap room in Padstow. A sweet, floral, velvet smooth English golden ale brewed with Citra hops. More honeyed than citrus. Perfectly refreshing.
Have also tried this beer in bottle format. Although bottle conditioned, the bottle format is far inferior. Although I was careful to retain the yeast sediment in the bottle, there was still a strong yeasty tang that dominated the floral nature of the cask version. The mouthfeel was thin and sharp rather than velvet smooth.
I guarantee that, as I try more of this brewery’s beers on cask & keg, I’ll be revising up my early (bottle and can format) ratings. That said, it would be great if the brewery could figure out what is happening to degrade its beer during the packaging process.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
