L- A trad Bitter brown, pours with 2mm white head.
S- Mild grain and malt.
T- Quite dry, into a hoppy flourish and a dry + bitter finish.
F- Tastes like a trad bitter to me, but to the lighter side for flavour, with hops a touch more prominent.
O- Trad, would be refreshing on a hot summers day. Sessionable if you're seeking lighter and dryer. Ps. Interesting to see how the style name 'Bitter' is used less on beer labelling these days (does it conjour childhood memories of overcooked sprouts hehe?). Here the lable read 'Nene Valley Bitter - New Age Chestnut' - maybe the latter suits contemporary tastes better?
500ml bottle BB: 11/02/2021 Bought from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Cambridge £2.70
Bottle Conditioned, Gluten free.
