Tasted by half-pint at the London Drinker's Beer Festival, 23/03/06. Gravity-dispensed.
A: dark golden hue, flat-bodied, without any beer head.
S: earthy, damp, leafy hops abound... I wonder if this hop is closely related to Fuggles? Very strong scent of hops indeed, yet pleasant. A tinge of stinky note of thick honey is also present at the back.
T: the initial fruity flavour of hops (not sure which fruits) is backed by a light malty aftertone, in a clear-cut structure. Gradually the earthy flavour intensifies and lingers well towards the very end, before the palate is enriched with a kick of dryish bitterness from hops and a subtle bitter-sweetness from toasted malts.
M&D: clean palate, light-medium bodied. Another nice and easy-drinking experiment~~
