Glad to bump into this seasonal ale at the Cross Keys, JDW pub in the City area, London.
A: clear, dark tawny to brown colour, a thin layer of off-white foam stays on top of a low carbonated body.
S: herbal, lightly caramelly, very mild malty and deeply black-sugary at the back; very light yet enticing, with some hints of dark fruits which adds some light texture to the aroma.
T: lightly-roasted malts and roast-nutty flavour, balanced by a mild (how apt!) but lingering roasted tea-ish hop flavour and restrained bitter aftertaste. Surprisingly clean with a touch dryish in the finish.
M&D: very light-bodied and smooth-textured, a bit lacking good carbonated support. The overall impression of this beer is like a Mild, albeit a light-weight one, doing the trick of a session ale.
