Pours a near black, with two fingers of khaki foam. Good retention. Aroma is great roasty and toasty malts, with an emphasis on the latter. Nutty malts start to come forward as the beer warms. Lactose provides a little additional sweetness, but it's light. Faint coffee. Flavor profile leans into malts - roasty, toasty, nutty, and earthy. Big emphasis on the toasty malts, with the other malts being more mild in temperament. Soft lactose sweetness. Light coffee and dark and milk chocolate. Mouth feel is slightly fuzzy that develops into a smooth and creamy finish. Thickness is medium-thick. Overall, well balanced. A plain tasty little number. Unfortunately, the namesake is not related to Always Sunny, but regardless, I'm sure the McPoyles would still be satisfied.
