This place makes most of their beer and it is of good quality. The vibe and location are excellent. The waitstaff are friendly and try to be helpful. But by US standards, I didn't find them that knowledgeable about their own beers - three different staff could not tell me what hops were in their IPAs. They did go look it up, but seriously if you are making and selling IPAs you should know your hop profile.

Great beers from Kelly Ryan, one of New Zealand's most talented brewers. The 2nd floor brewhouse is open and in full view of the venue; It's a wonder to behold. Generous selection of beers on tap.

A steep climb up the stairs opens to quite an open-planned bar with seating at the back in cosy booths. I'd heard a lot about this joint from others from Australia, so figured I'd have to try it.

A good atmosphere with funky music and great service at the bar. Heavy woods and plenty of quaint old-school vibe. I also like the brewing coppers around the back of the room. The staff for the most part also seem interested in craft beer and don't mind a chat about the different beer styles they have available.

The food they had there was fantastic, and was actually paired with a local Auckland beer (Garage Project Angry Peaches). Reasonable value for money, about $30 for the food and beer. Seems like a good place for the locals after work also.

A limited number of good - generally local - craft beer on tap. There is a vibrant craft beer scene in Wellington, so it's fairly reasonable that they are mostly local. A bit steep pricing but not outrageous.

Definitely well worth the visit.

Nice facility with bar, table and outdoor seating. All seating areas are on the 2nd floor, affording some views of the city, particularly from the balcony. The environment is much more roomy and airy than the famous Hashigo Zake, and lots of active brewing equipment is visible. I found it more appealing, at least during daylight hours.
Excellent service with a knowledgeable staff manning the taps.
It has a very good selection of beers on tap (for NZ) that include about 6 brewed on premises but most are guest taps. Beers include some international selections. Beer pricing is about average but the food pricing is a bit high. Tasting flights available and come with well-sized 4-5oz portions.
