Strike up the E-Street band, glory days are here again! Built on the backs of Amarillo and Chinook hops, an olde school taste of IPA keeps giving the old-timer hop heads a taste of those years gone bye.
Medium amber and glowing with a translucent honey gold, Glory Days, the American Pale Ale, builds a frothy eggshell cap before teasing with bursts of citrus, pine and light tropical fruit. Its straight forward scent is accompanied by a malty early palate of caramel, graham cracker and toasted nuttiness.
As the malt influence simmers moderatly on the middle palate, the hops of Amarillo bring a brisk citrusy taste of pink grapefruit, lemongrass and a roundness of light pineapple. Chinook commands the late palate, however, with a grassy, woodsy, strong pine presence laced with peppery bitterness and a gripping spruce sappiness.
Trending on the bitter side of bittersweet, the beer finishes with a stern hop bite, but with a mild caramel balance. A medium length aftertaste of toast and nuttiness is outlasted only by the grassy, peppery hops in a refreshing, effortless and rewarding session.
